Buddha's Teachings

The goal of the Buddha's teachings is the full development of all potentional qualities of body, speech, and mind. He was giving his teachings according to his listeners' way of thinking and their ability to understand. There he explained clearly and directly what exists ultimately and what is conditioned. Understanding of this makes the experience of lasting happiness possible. Buddhism doesn't proclaim dogmas but every claim can be verified. Through meditation, intellectual understanding becomes a personal experience. Buddhism also offers methods that lead to the direct experience of the very essence of mind. Today, they can be transmitted to us also by some well educated and independent people from the West.

The Karmapas

Gyalwa Karmapa is the main teacher and holder of the Karma Kagyu Lineage. He is the first consciously incarnated Lama of Tibet. Karmapa is taking rebirth into this world to transmit the teachings and contact with the perfect essence of tone's own mind to all sentient beings. In his 16th incarnation, Karmapa had to leave Tibet due to Chinese agression in 1959 so that he could protect the further existence of the lineage. Together with his Western disciples he transferred the highest teachings to the modern world. The present 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Thaye Dorje moved from the occupied Tibet to free India in his 11 years of age, in spring 1994. In 2000, he had visited Europe and his centres, established under the guidance of Lama Ole Nydahl.

Lama Ole Nydahl

Lama Ole Nydahl is one of the few Westerners fully qualified as a Lama and meditation teacher in the Karma Kagyu Buddhist tradition. After completing three years of intensive meditation in 1972, Lama Ole started teaching Buddhism in Europe at the request of Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. He has transmitted the blessing of the lineage, traveling as an authorized Lama and tirelessly teaching around the world in a different city nearly every day. The depth of his knowledge and dynamic way of teaching inspire thousands of people at his lectures and retreats in North and South America, UK,Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and Asia.
